AC Milan legend Paolo Maldini has dismissed a barb from club president Paolo Scaroni.

Scaroni had a dig at Maldini this week after past criticism from the club's former technical director.

He said, "I haven't heard from him again, I always think that when someone looks at his past with a certain degree of acrimony, it means that he is not living the present very well.

"I hope that this is not the case with Maldini, to whom I wish every satisfaction."

In response, Maldini told Corriere della Sera: "If I look at my past, I can't stop smiling."
