Ajax defender Perr Schuurs is back on the radar of Liverpool.

The Mirror says Liverpool are monitoring Schuurs following his recent outstanding Champions League display against them.

Schuurs has already been on trial at Anfield as a 17-year-old and although he impressed it was felt it was better to leave him in Holland with Fortuna Sittard and continue to monitor his progress.

The 6ft 3in stopper whose composure and authority has been likened to a young Virgil van Dijk went on to captain Fortuna Sittard as a teenager before moving to Ajax.

And following the departure of Matthijs de Ligt to Juventus, Schuurs now 20, has earned himself a regular place in manager Erik ten Hag's side.
