The winger suffered a huge blow to his career after tearing his anterior cruciate ligament and meniscus.

The 31-year-old went down in his nation's 2-0 loss against Uruguay in a World Cup qualifier.

Former PSG and Barcelona star Neymar will now miss the Copa America at the end of this season, but he will be hoping to be back for the next World Cup.

Al-Hilal posted a statement on social media, which read: "Medical examinations revealed that Al-Hilal player Neymar Jr. suffered a tear in the cruciate ligament and cartilage.

“He will undergo surgery later, and a treatment program will be determined for the duration after the operation. Come back stronger."
