Alaves coach Luis Garcia was proud of his players for victory at Valencia.
The 1-0 win, secured by Javi Lopez, sees Alaves secure their Primera status for another season.
Garcia said: "I am very happy, celebrating a stay with this newly promoted Deportivo Alavés exceeds all my expectations. A team with the lowest salary limit, I am very proud of my boys.
"I am satisfied for all the Glorioso fans. We have a very good score, 41 points are a lot of points. When the league started, everyone considered us relegated. I have told the club to celebrate our permanence. These two years at Deportivo Alavés are the seasons that I feel most proud of.
"We have a very clear line of how we want to play, I am very happy with how the players interpret the game.
Asked about the final huddle, Garcia added: "I told them that it has been an honour to train them, that they understood very well what we wanted. I got a little emotional."
