Andres Iniesta is leaving Vissel Kobe.

The former Barcelona captain has decided to leave the J-League club, says Nikkan Sports.

Iniesta still has a year to run on his contract, but will be granted a free transfer. Vissel Kobe will meet Barcelona in Japan on June 6, which will mark Iniesta's farewell.

The midfielder, now 39, intends to leave play on.

Iniesta will consider options from the MLS and Middle East.
