Arsenal are challenging Newcastle United for Al-Hilal midfielder Ruben Neves.
The Portugal international is set to become available for loan at Al-Hilal for the January market.
Newcastle are keen on Neves as a replacement for Sandro Tonali, who is banned for the season due to bets made while an AC Milan player.
However, talkSPORT says Arsenal are also keen, where technical chief Edu is a fan.
And playing in Arsenal's favour is a Premier League move to prevent loan deals between clubs of the same owner now being discussed. Newcastle and Al-Hilal are both owned and run by Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund.
