Atletico Madrid coach Simeone: With more force we would've won 6-4

Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone lamented a lack of aggression from his players after their Champions League quarterfinal exit.

Atletico were beaten 4-2 at Borussia Dortmund, losing 5-4 on aggregate.

Simeone said: "The interpretation I make is that in the two games the goal situations they had were better than ours. In the first leg the advantage could have been greater and in this game we had the first play with Álvaro very important.

"In the second half the team started very good with goal situations like Ángel's, who scored very well. They did not have this type of situations and the goals speak for themselves. We did not have forcefulness and if we had it we would have won 6-4.

"We could have won with more advantage in the first leg and today if fortune had been on our side we could have done something more.

"The game in the first half was controlled in the left sector and less in the right. The counterattack we had was important and everything that happened to us was negative. The one against Lino in the Metropolitano put us 3-0. When we got here 2-2 at the best moment, they made it 3-2 which was a great goal and then came the fourth."
