Napoli caretaker coach Francesco Calzona says rumours around the club have hurt their season.

Calzona was speaking after last night's 1-1 draw with Udinese.

He stated: "It's a year with many problems, a month with matches every three days didn't help us, we started from afar, we tried to improve some things, we made others worse.

"Chasing the result at all costs doesn't help, let's also think about next season, it's normal that in a place like Naples we talk about directors and coaches, but it may be that your head isn't clear.

"I found the team mentally in a disastrous situation, it's not an excuse, it would have taken more time and a few fewer games, so the season could have been straightened out a bit. Now we have to end on a high note and give our fans a little joy."
