Chelsea younger Henry Lawrence is heading to AFC Wimbledon on loan.

The England under-20s defender is set for a six-month loan at the League One club.

While there were offers for Lawrence from teams in the Championship, he prioritised getting regular first team football.

It is unclear whether Lawrence has the quality to make it at Chelsea, but he will be hoping that a loan can put him in the shop window for a permanent move to a club in the Premier League or Championship.

Goal journalist Nizaar Kinsella confirmed on his Twitter account that Lawrence's loan may be extended if he impresses between now and January.
