Bayern Munich winger Kingsley Coman says Karim Benzema deserves better press coverage in France.

The Al-Ittihad and former Real Madrid striker has been hammered by the French media and some politicians this year.

Coman said of his former France teammate: "I don't understand why Karim Benzema is criticised so much.

"They are really trying to bring more negative things around him, when in reality we should only report positive things for everything he has done for football."

Benzema left Real Madrid for Al-Ittihad last summer.
