Former Juventus defender Mark Iuliano is stunned by the latest crisis engulfing his old club.
Nicolo Fagioli is in the middle of an alleged betting investigation, while fellow midfielder Paul Pogba is facing an extended ban for doping.
Iuliano told BianconeraNews: "There is no justification for those who bet money on football, so we must punish him. At the same time, however, he must be helped because he is a resource of the club.
"With respect to the general issue of betting, after what happened in the past I don't understand why there are still players who take risks in this way. I wonder how certain guys can take the bait of illegal sites, managed by unscrupulous people. Whatever the case, Juve will have to give up on him and Pogba in midfield."
On Pogba, he continued: “It makes me very sad. As a Juventus fan I would have liked to see him again wearing our shirt. Instead, first the physical problems, then the doping blow. Enormous disappointment for a champion who will be disqualified for a slight."
