Former Juventus midfielder Angelo di Livio says Paul Pogba's doping ban is excessive.
The Juve midfielder has been hit with a four-year total football ban for failing a drug test, though his legal team have launched an appeal.
Di Livio said on TV Play: "It was naive, a player of that level must always know what he eats or what he drinks. Given this, the four-year disqualification is too long, in fact it prevents him from continuing to play football.
"The sanction was inevitable, but four years seems too long to me. The players must set a good example, Pogba is also an idol of children. I say it reluctantly, he didn't set a good example and he also penalised Juventus. He could make the difference and help Allegri.
"Let's remember that Juve also lost Fagioli. However, in my opinion he was very naive. You have to be careful about everything."
