Former Real Madrid goalkeeper Diego Lopez says Jose Mourinho laid the foundations for their domination in Europe.

Mourinho didn't win the Champions League during his time in charge.

But Lopez told Radio Marca: "There is a percentage of Mourinho in these Champions Leagues.

"There is the newspaper library... Mourinho created a different spirit in a very difficult time for Real Madrid.

"From there a spirit that characterized the club was recovered, but that had been missing for years. They show it in Europe."
