Al-Ettifaq have approached Tottenham for Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.
The Dane is viewed by Al-Ettifaq coach Steven Gerrard as a replacement for Jordan Henderson, after his departure for Ajax last week.
Everton midfielder Abdoulaye Doucoure is Gerrard's priority this month.
However, Tribalfootball.com has been informed Al-Ettifaq reps have also made contact with Tottenham for Hojbjerg.
The midfielder has battled for regular action this season and also been linked with Serie A and LaLiga clubs. However, the prospect of a bumper payday could prove attractive.
Any move to the SPL, it is understood, would need the support of Denmark coach Kasper Hjulmand, with Hojbjerg eager to be in top shape for the summer's Euros.
