Getafe held their farewell ceremony for Damian Suarez today.

The Uruguay wing-back has been released from his contract and will sign for Brazil's Botafogo.

Getafe president Angel Torres paid tribute, stating: "He is ready to continue playing although he is already a bit of a veteran.

"This League will have less demands, he misses his homeland and will be closer.

"This is his home, the day he wants, if you want to come back, we will name you ambassador. We love you very much."

Suarez also stated: "I have no words of gratitude. We made many moments, on and off the field. They always helped me. Thank you very much for everything. We will see each other soon.

"The fans are tremendous, they make me feel their support and their love, now they don't stop writing to me, you can't believe it. They make me feel very proud."
