Girona coach Michel hailed Portu and Savio after their 4-2 win against Barcelona.

The result secures Girona Champions League qualification for the first time.

Michel said: "What Portu has done is incredible. His mentality is total. His feeling of belonging is incredible. Look how he comes out after scoring the other day and leaving it on the bench.

"It is his soul, his heart, his desire to continue, to support the team, whether he gives his all, whether he plays or not. He is a player that every coach can enjoy, he doesn't give up anything either training or playing. All his teammates love him. He is a great player."

He continued, "The secret is to live the project and we all live the project. After three years, there is no wear and tear, there is friendship. Our idea is that we live a project and we all want to live it.

"When I saw Savio, I told Quique (Carcel, sporting director) that we were going to finish in the top eight. We were sad because we had lost Oriol Romeu... he told me I was crazy. The players have had a historic season that will be difficult to forget."
