Leicester City have opened talks for Ajaccio forward Fousseni Diabate.

The Daily Mail says the 22-year-old can play as a striker or on either wing and has represented Mali at U23 level.

Diabate was a target for Southampton in the summer as well as Wolfsburg and Rennes.

However, Leicester have now begun talks and hope to conclude a deal.

Diabate has contributed three goals and one assist in 20 appearances in all competitions for the Ligue 2 outfit this season.
