Al-Ittihad remain in the hunt for Liverpool striker Mohamed Salah.

That's according to transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano.

The Italian reports, quoted by Voetbalzone: "The reality behind the scenes is that the Saudi interest in Salah is still concrete.

"And they want to try again in 2024 to get him away from Liverpool. The technical director has openly admitted that he is a big fan of Salah and it is almost certain that Ittihad will make another attempt.

"But Liverpool does not want to be distracted by these rumours in any way. There is nothing concrete and there are currently no negotiations going on. Liverpool complains of a lack of respect, especially because Salah receives an exorbitant salary (an estimated weekly wage of 400,000 euros) at Anfield.

"And Salah has always shown himself to be an exemplary professional, so he cannot be blamed. It is really due to all the media attention. But nevertheless, Ittihad's interest has not disappeared and they will certainly return to Liverpool."
