Luca Gotti was delighted with Lecce's instant response for victory over Salernitana.
Gotti was named Lecce coach last week after the dismissal of Roberto D'Aversa.
He said: "Confidence was definitely the most important element to rediscover this week, during the championship there are many situations and moments to read. This was a very special moment, because the team was coming off a very difficult week after a complicated match that had left invasive consequences within the group.
"It was particularly important to give us a bit of order to go in search of points and try to rebuild that something good that was seen during the season.
"On a technical level I have to take some time to better understand certain things, but today in the nineties or so I perceived many small details which then make the difference.
"The impression is that of a very healthy locker room, of boys with great enthusiasm and desire. Before the match they were a bit scared but there are several players with excellent prospects for growth and improvement, this is a wonderful thing for a coach."
