Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola wasn't always a fan of Kevin de Bruyne.
That's according to former City captain Fernandinho, who revealed Guardiola blocked Bayern Munich from signing De Bruyne when he was with VfL Wolfsburg.
Fernandinho said on the Denilson Show: "He was at Bayern (Pep), and De Bruyne was at Wolfsburg.
"Bayern's scouting department said: 'We're scouting this kid. What do you think if we bring him here?'"
De Bruyne was already shining in Germany, where he arrived in the winter market of the 2013/14 season. In the following season, he became the top assist player (21) and was named best player in the Bundesliga.
But Pep, according to Fernandinho, responded to Bayern scouts at the time: "No, I don't want him, I don't think he fits into our team."
