Manchester United legend Nemanja Vidic says Chicago Fire is a good move for Bastian Schweinsteiger.

Schweinsteiger's switch comes after a difficult two-year stint at Old Trafford.

Vidic told Beyond The Pitch: "I think it's a great move for him.

"He's a top player, played at the top level for 15 years, he won so many trophies. He had some issues last season, that's why he didn't play and at his age it was difficult to come back in this form.

"He's been training well in recent months and he looks fit and to me he has energy to play and perform."
