Luka Modric has intimated he plans to see out the season at Real Madrid.

The veteran midfielder has been linked with a January move away due to a lack of action this season.

But at the AS awards, Modric said: "The Champions League? It would be incredible to win it again.

"Leipzig (Champions League round 16 opponents) is doing very well in its league. But first we have the Championship and the Cup and we have to focus on that.

"We have had a bad time. I want to send a lot of encouragement to everyone from here, especially to David Alaba, who is the newest. It's not easy for us, but we're holding on and doing well.

"We hope to continue like this until the end."
