Olympique Marseille have announced the dismissal of Rino Gattuso.

The former Napoli and Valencia departs after only months in charge.

"Olympique Marseille announces the end of the collaboration with Gennaro Gattuso," club statement read this morning.

"Olympique Marseille thanks in particular Gennaro and all his staff for the great professionalism demonstrated on a daily basis and wishes them good luck for the future."

Gattuso was announced as OM's new coach on 27 September: at that time the team was seventh in Ligue 1 with 9 points after six rounds. Now, however, Marseille is ninth in the standings with thirty points won in twenty-two games.
