Former Inter Milan president Ernesto Pellegrini says Steven Zhang can lead the club from China.
Pellegrini says key to the arrangement will be GM Beppe Marotta.
He told Radio Sportiva: "It also happened with Inter who had won my record Scudetto: there was talk of difficulties at the beginning and it was rumoured that I wanted to dismiss Giovanni Trapattoni and taking the job away from him wasn't like that: I trusted him, so it was right that Beppe Marotta trusted Simone Inzaghi, a winning coach, who works quietly and never raises his voice - I also like him for this reason.
"It is also right to point out the skill of Piero Ausilio. He is Marotta's right-hand man, who remembers him on every occasion."
Pellegrini added: "When there are people like Marotta in the club you can also be president in China, everything depends on the men. Marotta has an edge, he is a man I respect very much, as a manager but also as a person."
