Çaykur Rizespor director Hasan Yavuz Bakır wants to secure Jonjo Shelvey for next season.

The 32-year-old is on loan from Nottingham Forest in the English Premier League.

He has impressed in Rizespor, pushing the team to eighth place and playing 29 times.

“Jonjo Shelvey is happy in Rize and we are happy with Shelvey's performance," Bakır is quoted as telling Turkish outlet Ajansspor.

“However, Shelvey's contract with his club Nottingham Forest continues. If financial conditions arise, we will add Shelvey to our squad."

Shelvey had been at Forest since January 2023, but moved to the Turkish club in September 2023.
