Roma striker Romelu Lukaku has explained turning down Al-Hilal over the summer.

The on-loan Chelsea centre-forward received an offer from the Saudis as he was considering his options in August.

He recalled: "I am proud of their interest, but after initial talks I was not convinced about going to Al-Hilal.

"Al-Hilal is the biggest club in the Middle East, the Saudi league will be one of the biggest in the world but I wasn't ready to leave Europe."

Lukaku is on-loan at Roma to the end of the season.
