Cristiano Ronaldo has pushed hard to convince former Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea to join him at Al-Nassr.

Released by United over the summer, De Gea remains a free agent after resisting interest from the Saudi Pro League.

Ronaldo has been trying, unsuccessfully, to convince the goalkeeper to join him at Al Nassr, says Marca.

The 32-year-old was considered by Bayern Munich and Real Madrid, but neither club made a formal offer.

For his part, De Gea remains determined to pursue his career in Europe and thoughts of retirement are yet to be considered.
