Olympique Marseille president Pablo Longoria says they're fighting to keep hold of Ismaila Sarr.

The winger joined in the summer from Watford on the request of coach Marcelino, who now wants him at Villarreal.

But Longoria said: "There are rumours and there may be informal conversations, but there is no concrete offer at this time.

"Ismaila Sarr is a quality and important player for this team. He was penalised at the time by the change of game system to 3-5-2 due to his status as a pure winger, but any situation is studied together with the players.

"The season had been planned with Marcelino and a 4-4-2 , now his participation is different. We are happy with his potential and we believe in his characteristics. We must give (Rino) Gattuso the opportunity to play with different options."
