Arrigo Sacchi admits he was in contact with Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti after their stunning Champions League semifinal win against Bayern Munich.
The former AC Milan coach is close to Ancelotti.
He wrote for La Gazzetta dello Sport: "The first thing I told him was that he can't make me suffer so much. 'Carlo, I had a bad time!' And he, who always wants to joke: 'It's a tactic, Arrigo. We pretend to be dead and then suddenly, at the end of the game, we get up and win!'
“It is truly a phenomenon."
After the 'accusations' of saying that Ancelotti is just a good manager, Sacchi insists he is one of the best in the world: “I congratulated him because he reached the Champions League final for the sixth time. Six times is not few. He has come a long way and has shown everyone that he is still among the best coaches in the world.
"Do you know why he's good, Carlo? Because he has patience, he has passion for his work, he goes out on the field every day and tries to improve first his players and then himself. If someone wins in Italy, England, France, Germany and Spain, that is, in the main European championships, and also achieves four Champions Leagues (and another final...), he is a champion of the benches."
